Chris Kyle – American Sniper – Survives War – Killed In America

Chris Kyle, a former Navy SEAL, was the most lethal sniper in American history with a over 150 confirmed kills during the Iraq war over four tours of duty. Kyle came back home, wrote a bestselling book, starred on a television show and helped many disabled veterans. Kyle was shot to death along with another man at a gun range in Texas on Saturday February 2, 2013. Condolences to Chris Kyle’s Family and may he rest in peace.
Attacks on those that served this country and are still serving by their fellow Americans is not unknown and it is all the more tragic because being home in the United States should be a haven of safety and comfort. Soldiers were attacked at the sprawling Fort Hood Army base when Major Nidal Hasan went on a shooting rampage in 2009 and killed 13 people and wounded 29 others.
In 2011 a man went on a shooting spree at an International House of Pancakes and shot five uniformed National Guard members that were in the restaurant eating breakfast and three of them died along with one other victim. The shooter shot himself in the head and died later.
We live in a nation where our wars and military seem to be in the background while most Americans occupy themselves with other pursuits. Military service is tough on those serving and their families. Those engaged in military service miss many things the rest  of us take for granted such as the births of their children and the deaths of some of those close to them. For someone who sacrificed so much to serve his country to have his life taken back home is the utmost of tragic circumstances.
