Trump's War Against The America Dream

Fear and loathing of a fully realized version of the United States where the words of both Thomas Jefferson and Martin Luther King Jr. come into full fruition drove frightened voters to seek refuge in a retrograde vision of America from a morally bankrupt racist and elevate him to be President of the United States.

 

Thomas Jefferson wrote as part of the Declaration of Independence, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." Martin Luther King Jr. said he dreamed of a day when people would not be judged by the color of their skin, but the content of their character. The 45th President of the United States, Donald John Trump, is fighting against the realization of Jefferson's and King's words and used the fear of the day that is coming where more minorities will be counted as Americans than Whites. Using words and tactics that stoked fear of a darker America among the insecure, Trump drew out the darkness to gain enough votes in areas left behind by a changing economy to secure a victory in the electoral college while being rejected by three million more voters nationally than voted for him.

Since taking the oath of office Trump has constantly sought to divide and pit Americans against each other on the basis of race, religion, ideology, sexual orientation and political party. Trump has called some immigrants vermin and infestations. Trump has described some countries certain immigrants came from as shitholes. Trump characterized predominantly Black athletes who knelt to protest police brutality against Blacks as sons of bitches while saying White Supremacists involved in violence in Charlottesville, NC were fine people. Trump tweeted about four minority first year Democrat Congresswomen and said, "Why don't they go back and help fix the totally broken crime infested places from which they came."

Trump continually seeks new lows and a twitter attack against Black Congressman Elijah Cummings took him there. Trump tweeted, "Cumming District is a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess. If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place." Later Trump stated ""no human being would want to live there."

Over two and one half years since becoming President Trump has never presented he was even pretending to represent the entire country, but he is stoking more racial, cultural and economic division than ever while throwing toxic red meat to his base.

In truth Trump wants the American dream to the reserved for those he deems deserve it, and it's not his lower income White supporters that shout and chant at his rallies and survive on a steady diet of FOX News. Trump abhors Dr. King's vision of America and rejects Thomas Jefferson's view of equality, but he wants Jefferson's America when wealthy White men ruled unchallenged. Voting with a foreboding of an inevitably different America pushing them aside caused a corrupt man to be entrusted with unchecked power and shielded from criminal repercussions due to the office he held. Trump is now attempting to destroy the United States as it exists to serve the needs of his greed, ego and powerful enablers, both foreign and domestic.

If Trump and his enablers get what they want and the United States is left in tatters in their wake, in their view, it is a small price to pay.

A Black Man In Trump's Crime Infested Ghetto



As I sit here on the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Holiday January 16, 2017 with the knowledge that four days later on January 20, 2017 Donald J. Trump will be sworn in as the 45th President of the United States of America. There is a wide emotional swing that is taking place in my mind as a day celebrating the life of a man that sought equality for all will be swiftly followed by the elevation of  man that said he would ban an entire religion from entering the country and boasted how his fame allowed him to have his way with women with or without their consent. We live in curious times indeed, but we had an election, as tainted as it was with Russian and other interference, that elected this man to be the leader of the free world. Despite losing the popular vote by almost three million votes to his major political party opponent, Donald J. Trump will be sworn in as President of the United States. I await his assistance.

As I sit here in the crime infested inner city ghetto that I must surely live in as a Black American, I'm asking for your help in getting out, not. You see, what I have learned in the transition period between President Barak Obama and Donald Trump is that Trump views the United States through some type of stereotypical lens that has shaped his world view. Blacks have their place, in the ghetto. Immigrants have their place, out of the country. And women have their place, there for his pleasure, if they are a 10 on his scale, of course.

So now we are about to take a voyage on the USS - Ununited States of America, captained by President Donald J. Trump. Passengers please put on your life vests and be prepared to evacuate to your personal survival pods at a moment's notice. Godspeed.

Congressman John Lewis - The Truth About Trump Hurts

Sometimes a man with a soft, quiet voice cuts through the smoke and noise of an issue that others are too afraid to touch because it is too hot or too potentially damaging to their future prospects.  One man, Congressman John Lewis, whose actions were written in blood due to blows from many during his time fighting for civil rights in concert with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and many others spoke what he saw as truth and was attacked as all talk and no action by President elect Donald J. Trump. Congressman John Lewis said he did note view President elect Donald J. Trump as a legitimate President of the United States due to Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential campaign. John Lewis was beaten by Alabama State Troopers with night sticks in Selma Alabama and had his skull fractured. John Lewis was beaten as a Freedom Rider. John Lewis was beaten by Ku Klux Klansmen. John Lewis' action was written in blood for what, equal rights for all Americans and the right to vote without discrimination.

The Presidential election of 2016 was tainted by open interference from a foreign power, Russia, which the United States intelligence agencies determined stole emails from the Democratic Party and Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman John Podesta. The stolen emails were released through Wikileaks and used by the Trump campaign like it was operation research gathered by their own team. Trump said proudly during the campaign that he loved Wikileaks and during a press conference asked Russia to find Hillary Clinton’s 30,000 emails.

Trump responded to Congressman Lewis on Twitter in two tweets:

    mention crime infested) rather than falsely complaining about the election results. All talk, talk, talk - no action or results. Sad!

Trump defenders point out that Trump won fair and square through the Electoral College and the actual vote or voting machines which is true, but Congressman John Lewis said what others know, but are afraid to say. Russia did not need to hack the voting machines when the hacked the mind of the voters before they went to the polls. Voters make voting decisions based upon the information placed before them and Russia placed damaging stolen information in front of voters that they otherwise would not have had on one candidate they despised in order to help their preferred candidate to become President of the United States. Congressman John Lewis almost died for the right to decide on whom to vote for and to be able to vote fairly, but that was tampered with by a foreign enemy. The voters were hacked, not the vote and that is what civil rights legend Congressman John Lewis knows, Trump supporters knows that and President Elect Donald Trump knows it in his heart and it hurts.

President Trump - One Person, One Vote, Remember!

Donald Trump’s supporters wanted it more and they got it. Anyone upset about the outcome of the 2016 Presidential election that didn’t vote for a different outcome or didn’t vote at all need to check their anger at the door. If you voted, period, congratulations! Those that were too busy, too distracted, didn’t care, thought it was going a certain way or thought their vote didn’t count, congratulations, because you got the result you deserved. In the words of President Barack Obama, don’t boo, vote, but it’s too late now! How many people watched the election returns come in and wished they could turn back the clock so they could walk a few blocks and vote, but it’s too late.

I hope that all those ready to march in the streets after the election marched to voting booth during the election.  The bottom line is that Trump supporters understood one person, one vote only counts when everyone votes for what they want or in this case what they didn't want. If someone didn’t vote because they didn’t get their desired results during the primaries, congratulations, look at the result you have to live with!

Santa Claus

It was days before Christmas and all through the land
Everyone was cheery and lending each other a helping hand
Laser Christmas lights were shining on homes and spreading cheer
Only occasionally blinding aircraft pilots flying near

If Beyonce Lip Syncing Is A National Crisis - We’re Doomed

Whether a singer performed live or used a recorded voice track at the Presidential inauguration has taken over the news for days and it illustrates how easily we are distracted by shiny objects while other things go to hell in a hand basket. Think of latest hot news items, Lance Armstrong’s doping, Manti Te'o’s fake girlfriend and Beyonce.

With all of the things going on in the world such as many hostages dying in a raid to free them in Africa, shootouts on college campuses and the upcoming debt ceiling fight, lip-sync gate took over the news cycle. What this shows more than anything is the erosion that has occurred inside news organizations over the years. What passes as hot news today would have been left off the list of items to pass across the lips of a hard news anchor in years past.



As we get carpet bombed with Lindsay Lohan and Kim Kardashian stories some pliable minds actually start to believe that knowing every move these individuals make is really what matters and why shouldn’t they given the amount of precious airtime devoted to covering them. The current news coverage exposes how network news divisions have just become extensions of the entertainment side of media companies.

Even coverage of politics has become slanted towards an entertainment and sensationalism angle. Over the last four years much of the political coverage focused on the outrageous and outlandish and politicians took notice. Some borderline competent politicians became media stars because of their looks, over the top statements and offbeat behavior. We only really seem to focus on hard news during a crisis such as an outbreak of war, a national tragedy or a natural disaster.

Our culture has created a population of distracted individuals that on the surface does not seem to be a problem, but not everyone is distracted by shiny object. Some individuals are very focused on their tasks. One of the clues to being a good pickpocket is to distract your intended target and that has been accomplished on a massive scale. A few are focused and becoming very wealthy from the pockets of those engrossed in lip sync gate and whatever the next shiny object that will be thrust upon us as a crisis. 

Second Amendment Misused By Gun Rights Advocates



Gun rights advocates have long distorted the meaning of the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution to justify their version of guns rights. The 2nd Amendment is clear, “A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” There is no mention of the type of gun that could be owned.

The 2nd Amendment to the United States Constitution was adopted in 1791 when a skilled user could manage to shoot and reload a musket 2 to 3 times per minute. Now the 2nd Amendment is being used to justify the need for civilians to own semiautomatic guns that can hold 100 rounds of ammunition and fire 45 to 60 times per minute or as fast as the shooter can pull the trigger. The 2nd Amendment says nothing about the of gun anyone can own, it just says you have the right to own guns. As for the word “infringed” that some gun advocates become unhinged over anytime gun regulation is brought up, it simply means “act so as to limit or undermine.”

The second Amendment deals with the right to own guns and no one has acted to limit our undermine the right of law abiding citizens eligible to own guns from obtaining them or limit how many they can own. When the word infringed is extended to mean that it also includes no regulations on the types of guns available for people to own, that’s where the misuse of the 2nd Amendment occurs. Guns are commercial products produced by companies that design, manufacture and sell them to the public. Guns are designed to launch a projectile into an object and cause damage, if that object happens to be a living being like a deer or person it causes injury or death. If government authorities tasked with maintaining public safety determine that a certain type of gun or ammunition feeding device is involved in excessive human injury or death, they have the duty to address the issue with legislation to protect the public. None of the current gun legislation or proposed changes “infringes” upon anyone’s right to go to their local Walmart, Gander Mountain or Cabellas and buy the available gun of their choice. Please don’t bring up how many people die in automobile accidents compared to firearm deaths because it’s a false comparison, cars are designed for transportation and those deaths result from accidents and bad decision making, not from intention. These shooting spree killers did so with a gun, not a car.




The 2nd amendment is a clear statement in what it means in regards to gun ownership, you have the right to keep and bear arms, period. The 2nd Amendment does not outline the type of guns you have the right to own. Guns are a product just like automobiles, food and drugs. Automobiles, food and drugs are all regulated to ensure that safe products are available on the market. Occasionally regulating agencies will require products that have proved to be a danger to the public to be removed from the marketplace by their manufacturers or move from off the shelf access to prescription required in the case of drugs. Guns are no different than any other product when it comes to public safety. There is nothing magical, mystical or sacred about any one gun type or ammunition magazine that makes it essential for a gun owner to possess.

Jared Lee Loughner was taken down during his shooting rampage in Tucson, Arizona when he was trying to reload his semiautomic handgun after his 33 round magazine was empty, but he dropped the second magazine and others on the scene took him down. What if Loughner had a 10 round magazine instead of a 33 round unit, that’s 23 fewer shots before he had to reload, could someone that is gone still be alive? Colin Ferguson methodically shot passengers on a Long Island, New York commuter train with a semiautomatic pistol in December 1993, he emptied and reloaded two 15 round magazines, when Ferguson tried to load a third magazine other passengers took the opportunity to tackle him. If Ferguson was limited to 10 rounds per magazine, would someone that was killed be alive because of 10 fewer shots fired? The 10 round magazine limit proposed is just common sense. Why does any recreational gun owner need a 100 round drum magazine on a civilian semiautomatic rifle like what was used by the Aurora, Colorado theater shooter. If 10 shots can’t handle what is coming at you in a defensive mode then it is likely that more rounds won’t be of much help either.

All of the noise against gun legislation is a smoke screen for the makers and takers. The manufacturers and gun lobby make money and politicians take money. Some gun owners just want to keep getting their favorite grown up toys that resembles the guns used by our brave troops on the battlefield. The sad truth is that we kill over twice as many of each other in the United States than the number of brave troops we have lost to enemy combatants during 12 years of war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Something has to change.

Wasting Your Vote Is Wasting Their Blood

How many have died in wars, protests and random acts of suppressive violence in order to protect or enable your right to vote as you see fit. You may have blood from someone that paid the ultimate price for your right to choose elected representatives of your free will flowing through your veins, that’s why wasting you vote is wasting their blood.

The right to vote is exercised today like one is cheering on their favorite sports team against their long term rival. Rooting interests and emotions tend to override real introspection and projection about what certain policies actually mean over time. When it comes to national elections the atmosphere has morphed into a bizarre group think and the thoughts of the day are canned, approved and rolled out via electronic messaging technology. News figures, politicians and like-minded citizens all repeat the same talking points on cue when certain issues present themselves.



The American Revolution, Civil War, World Wars and Civil Rights movement did not take place to enable a kind of fantasy political league environment that we live in today. Many Americans of a certain generation view war through the prism of video games where the combatants rise from the field of battle with the push of a reset button, but fallen soldiers on the battlefield do not rise again because there is no reset button.

Those that have fought and died over the years to protect and enable our right to live in a democracy deserve for the current benefactors of their sacrifice to take their voting privilege seriously, because for them it was worth dying for and we just have to stand in a line.

Mitt Romney – The Sham Wow Candidate!

There are several definitions of the word sham. Two definitions are:

· A trick that deludes

· An imitation or counterfeit claiming to be real

During the first Presidential debate Mitt Romney Romney instantly changed and denied so many prior positions that he became the first sham wow Presidential candidate. The sham was perpetrated on the American public and he thinks he got away with it.

Is it enough to be willing to change your positions to suit every particular audience if that seems to play the best for that moment in time? Has the concept of voting for someone because of their core beliefs lost it meaning? If Mitt Romney becomes President while constantly shifting positions in full view of the public it will mark the beginning of a brave new frontier in election politics.

A Romney win will usher in the age of situational position policies that most will consider unlikely to be the way the candidate would govern if elected to office. Consider Romney’s tactics during the primary season when he considered himself a severe conservative in order to defeat his opponents. Romney saw an opportunity to use the leverage of a 60 million plus viewing audience to break the hold the conservative elements of Republican voters had on him. After the debate Romney went back and forth on issues like abortion from saying he would not seek legislation to restrict abortion to stating he is proudly pro-life within a 24-hour time span.

If Romney becomes President by using a shifting sands strategy he will throw the world of American politics into an era of say anything, do anything to win where substance and facts matter much less than presentation. A world where facts don’t matter would be a frightening place to live.

Romney Counting on Honey Boo Boo To Win

“If you can’t blind them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit,” was a quote used by actor W.C. Fields and Mitt Romney used that as his strategy for the first debate against President Barack Obama.  In August a Romney pollster said, “We're Not Going to Let Our Campaign Be Dictated by Fact-Checkers.” Romney gave fact checkers whiplash and finger cramps as he twisted and contorted away from positions he had held for months.

President Obama seemed unprepared and rightly so if he had expected that his opponent would stand on positions he had been campaigning on during his entire run for President, but a different Mitt Romney showed up. The Mitt Romney that denied his economic plan, tax plan and just about everything else he said he had believed previously was counting on public distraction and media laziness.



Mitt Romney knew there would be a huge viewing audience for the first Presidential debate and figure most of the viewers had not been paying close attention to the Presidential race up until that point. Romney has some reason to believe the public is too distracted to care if what he said was true given the Republican National Convention drew fewer viewers than an episode of the reality show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. As for the news media serving as a source of fact checking, that ended when the fight for ratings became more of a priority for broadcast news divisions than journalistic purity.

Romney decided to introduce himself to over 60 million of the American electorate as a completely different politician than he had been during his prior months of campaigning. The next day when the focus was off his staff and spokespeople started to correct some of the policy shifts feeling that the information would not filter out to the voters that would not tune back in until the next debate. Welcome to the big top of reality television politics where style may rule over substance. Come on Honey Boo Boo, Mitt is counting on you.

Mitt Romney Paul Ryan – The Boss And The Axman

Mitt Romney has selected Wisconsin Republican Paul Ryan as for Vice Presidential running mate and it makes perfect sense. Romney has clearly signaled his desire to protect and increase benefits for the wealthy and Ryan already has the plan written to make that happen with the Ryan budget plan. Watch out grandma, your Medicare voucher is in the mail.

Of course Romney will say that there will be no changes for those currently on Medicare or Social Security, but just throw your children under the bus. There is no doubt about what is at stake in the next election. There is a choice between moving towards a two-tier society or one that is aimed at restoring the great middle class that once powered this great nation.

There are both long and short term implications to Romney’s selection of Paul Ryan. Romney needed to change the subject because he was being revealed as an out of touch plutocrat that feels he does not have to play by the rules everyone else does. After a disastrous trip abroad that saw Mitt Romney or his tea insult one group or another at every stop he needed to shift the focus.

Mitt Romney has selected Paul Ryan as his running mate as a shock to the system, but the fact remains that it is Mitt Romney running for President. Romney has been even accused of not paying any income taxes for several years by Senate Majority leader Harry Reid and yet he won’t release more tax returns to clear up the issue. Mitt Romney you can’t hide behind Paul Ryan because you are the one running for President.

Will Mitt Romney Do A Leveraged Buyout Of America

Mitt Romney touts his business experience as a basis for his ability to turn around the United States economy. That’s a frightening proposition given that given that Romney’s experience as a venture capitalist involves leveraged buyouts. Wow, imagine the feeding frenzy of a LBO of the United States, what a business windfall.

If someone is using their business background as a basis for becoming President of the United States then you have to examine that business experience and determine how it would be used to reach their goals. Someone like Mitt Romney was involved in making profits from investments in start-ups and struggling companies. Mitt Romney’s firm was not interested in profiting from long term operating profits from the organizations it invested in, but in extracting the largest payout it could within a certain time frame. How would that apply in a government setting?

Don’t think that what would amount to a LBO of the United States is far fetched. Some of the most valued assets we have are being sold off or lease right now. One of the most precious assets the country possesses is its infrastructure.  Many public roads across the nation are being converted to toll roads under long term lease deals. A study  by the U.S. PIRG Education Fund details this growing trend.

Private/public partnerships and small government are the new code words for moving government services over to private for profit generating activities. The federal government is filled with opportunities for profit making transitions if the skids are greased with the President and Congress being of like mind. A nation with the riches of the United States is ripe with opportunities with obvious choices being the transition of Medicare and Social Security into the private account investment market. National parks could be opened for drilling and almost any agency you can think of could be outsourced on a consultant basis.

Some may ask why the scenario above would be a problem since we are running deficits as a country. The problem comes in because the government is based upon a service model and not a for-profit model. Government is here to serve it citizens and not profit off them as customers. When profit comes into the picture someone is not going to be able to afford the price and go wanting.

Mitt Romney is a businessman who is great at making money for himself and his investors, the question is can he deliver services to the citizens of the United States. There may have been a ray of hope given that he delivered a healthcare plan to the citizens of Massachusetts when he was Governor, but he avoids that subject like the plague in order to please his current supporters that are sitting at the table with their forks and knives hoping that a great feast is at hand.
