Three Wise Moneys - Republicans On Trump Impeachment

As Trump's impeachment trial, or lack there of, looms in the Senate, Republican Senators who will take an oath to be impartial jurors play their roles as one of Donald Trump's Three Wise Monkeys. The Three Wise Monkeys saw no evil, heard no evil and spoke no evil because they had their hands covering their ears, mouth and eyes. The principles behind the Three Wise Monkeys may date back to hundreds of years BC before taking its final form in Japan. The framers of the U.S Constitution never thought a co-equal branch of government created to be a check on an out of control Executive Branch would be controlled by Three Wise Monkeys and become subservient to the Executive Branch to the point of being jointly complicit in covering up and enabling constitutional breaches including inviting foreign interference in our elections to advantage a sitting President. 

 

 

Living in The Age of White Reparations 

As the fourth estate of the press revealed that Trump rolled over his top advisors after they advised him not to withhold congressionally approved aid to Ukraine the truth is sitting in front of their faces to see, read and hear. Trump asked the President of Ukraine to, "do him a favor though" in order to get aid and that favor was to announce an investigation into his rival Joe Biden and his son. If this impeachment trial is like the Brett Kavanaugh FBI investigation for his confirmation to the Supreme Court when people called and went to the FBI with information that was ignored because it was outside the very narrow scope defined by the White House, then we no longer have three co-equal branches of government. If the Senate conducts a rigged sham impeachment trial and clears Donald Trump summarily then we no longer have a President, but an unchecked and untouchable head of state who could wreak havoc for the rest of his current term and do untold damage if reelected with no risk of constitutional restraint or reelection.

Could Libya Become Obama’s Iran Hostage Crisis For Next Election

Could the military intervention in Libya do to President Barack Obama what the Iran hostage crisis did to former President Jimmy Carter? For those that don’t remember, former President Jimmy Carter ended his first term with U.S. hostages held captive in Iran as he ran for reelection against Ronald Reagan. Reagan won in a landslide.

The Iran hostage crisis came about as U.S. citizens and diplomats were taken hostage at the American Embassy in Teheran, Iran. This went on for 444 days and included a disastrous rescue attempt that included helicopter crashes in the desert. The crash of a United States F-15 Strike Force Eagle fighter jet in Libya was the first opportunity for this to spiral out of control for President Obama. A story titled “Libya: US fighter jet crash lands in field near Benghazi” by Rob Crilly, James Kirkup and Rob Winnett March 22, 2011 and published in The Telegraph has additional details on the story.

Had the pilot and weapons officer from the F-15 fallen into the hands of Muammar Gaddafi it could have been the beginning of a nightmare for the airmen, the nation and President Obama. The symbolism of the Gaddafi holding two American military men and the propaganda he could have unleashed could have been the beginning of the end for President Barack Obama. Luckily the jet crashed near Bengazi where the rebel forces opposing Gaddafi have control.

Do We Need A National Black Intervention

This not just another shower of negativity about African Americans, but with a 62% high school graduation rate, 4% of black men in prison and 15.4% unemployment rate, do we need a national black intervention?

It is said that we don’t manufacture anything in this country anymore, but I beg to differ. I feel we are manufacturing and assembly line of failure conditions for African Americans in general and for young blacks in particular.

Drop Out Rate

A Time magazine article by Andrew J. Rotherham on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010 indicated that only 62% of African American students graduated high school in 2008. You can say this is the beginning of feeding the raw material into the assembly line. In a world where even a 4-year college degree does not guarantee someone the security of being employable, having less than a high school diploma is a recipe for constant struggle.

The lack of a high school diploma does not mean someone is automatically on the road to prison or unemployment, but the conditions that existed for someone in that situation to be successful have greatly diminished. An economy based upon an abundance of industrial, construction and agricultural jobs is a distant memory. The options are few for the unskilled and uneducated.

Prison The Human Warehouse

An article published on ABCnews.go.com by Pierre Thomas and Jason Ryan on

June 6, 2008 stated that, “Four percent of U.S. black males were in jail or prison last year, compared to 1.7 percent of Hispanic males and .7 percent of white males. In other words, black males were locked up at almost six times the rate of their white counterparts.”

Now some will say the prison rate and dropout rate can’t be necessarily connected, but the conditions for someone with limited options to become swept up in activity that may lead them to incarceration is logically higher. The inequity of drug sentencing laws are a factor, but being involved in activity for the laws to become a factor has more impact.

Joblessness

Next we have the issue of the unemployment rate in the black community. Being at 15.7% for the month of November 2010 compared to 8.4% for whites according to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics. That rate for black unemployment is 86% higher than whites and that is getting very close to double. An article by William Alden that was published on 09-30-10 in the Huffington Post indicated that those in prison don’t count in the unemployment rate. Can you imagine the unemployment rate if the African Americans in prison were counted in the statistics.

This seems to be a crisis by normal definitions and some other issues have not even been included here. The question is what can be done to stop the movement in these negative directions. There is not a group to march against, sit down to stage or organization to boycott. It is us. We need an intervention with ourselves. How do we do it, I’m open to suggestions.
